Converting your Seagull IV diverter model to faucet model

I had an enquiry from a customer who wanted to move his Seagull IV (Nature Pure) water purifier diverter counter top model to below his sink and basically convert it to a faucet model.

It's actually a simple process but costs a bit though.

Here is the conversion process:-

Water in

1. Remove the diverter unit that is connect to the pre-filter inlet hose.

2. Get a plumber to install a T connection to your existing kitchen tap, install a stop cock to connect to the pre-filter inlet hose.

Water out

1. Unscrew the goose neck on the surgical steel (S/S) unit

2. Screw in a male/male connector ( RM20/SGD9)

3. Connect a long flexible hose with one end to the S/S unit and the other to the base of the faucet (RM109/SGD50)

4. Install the faucet on the kitchen sink top (RM369/SGD165 )

You now have a neat kitchen sink top, with your water purifier below the counter top and only a beautiful faucet visible.

Seagull IV (Nature Pure) point of use water purifier is the only water system you and your family will ever need, period.

NSF, UL, WQA certify guidelines set by EPA

In USA, if anyone talks about food and drugs, they know FDA.

And for things related to air and water, they know EPA. After all, if you have a product certified by EPA standards, it's the highest grade of certification. The Seagull IV is EPA certified as a micro-biological water purifier, able to remove 99.99999% of all harmful contaminants in the water, up till the last drop.

What this means is that all beneficial things in the water - dissolved oxygen and minerals, are allowed through making your water sparkling clear and deliciously tasting.

So products that cannot pass this EPA minimum standards, will have to go get certification from other organsiations like NSF, DBKL, MPPJ, LLN, TNB, PLUS etc, so as to confuse the end consumer.

With the EPA certification, FAA has approved only one water purifier for installation on board all passenger aircraft - the Seagull IV water purifier. 300-400 people on board with 8 toilets will be a disaster if the water the aircraft draws from around the world is contaminated in any way.

I have been using my Seagull IV since 1990 - almost 20 happy years. Go check out the raw water demo on youtube. Just search for "Seagull IV water purifier" then see if any other brand can treat river water and you can get the deputy health minister to drink on national tv.

Happy shopping and choose wisely or else it will be frustrating for you to keep looking for a new system to buy every few years, and wasting your time, money and energy.

Clinical Studies versus Certification Tests

NSF/UL/WQA all follow these water guidelines - http://www.aquascience.net/water-standards.cfm So if your water falls within this range, you get certified.

Please visit www.NSF.org and you will see they are like SIRIM - testing anything from car parts to clothes washers. Like Sirim, they set minimum standards that the local government considers safe for consumers.

http://www.nsf.org/consumer/faucets/index.asp?program=Faucets is another site that refers back to the EPA guidelines on water safety - namely less than .025 percent lead content. EPA has minimum standards on water safety and NSF checks for the minimum standards.NSF tests minimum standards 0.25% lead content versus EPA micro-biological standards of 0.00001% lead content. As an informed consumer, which would you prefer?

http://engineers.ihs.com/news/epa-ul-ucmr2.htm - says EPA approves UL testing. When I read that, I can only conclude that EPA is the highest body, that can grade any air or water products. So any products that carry the EPA certification, in my mind are the highest grade.

http://www.ul.com/global/eng/pages/offerings/industries/waterandfood/water/waterlab/resources/ This link says water is tested for 24 and 48 hours only. But its common knowledge that for any certification tests, they only test the water for 1 or 2 days. But if your water system works in your house until you change your filter, would you want a test on the water, the day before you are supposed to change your filter?

There is a very big difference between a clinical study and a certification test.

With 2 clinical studies at University of Arizona and the Institute Pasture in France, together with the EPA certification that the Seagull IV is a "Micro-biological Purifier - able to remove 99.99999% of all contaminants in the water" - far exceeds the minimum standards.

The clinical study done at University of Arizona is the last drop test - meaning the last of the 4,000 litres that successfully passed through the faucet. The Seagull IV cartridge once full, will not allow any more water through, unlike all the rest of the systems, that allow you to continue using, long after the safe water period is over. Many tests will check the first 24 or 48 hours water only.

The clinical study done at the Institue Pasteur France was the incubation test - where billions of viruses and bacteria was put into the Seagull IV, left for 30 days, and then the purified water was tested. This is the most comprehensive test which EPA used, as a guideline to grade "Micro-Biological purifiers"

A copy of both these clinical studies will be uploaded to my blog shortly.

Only the Seagull IV can remove 99.99999% of all viruses, bacteria, heavy metals and chemicals in the water, up till the last drop.

I have happily used my unit for 20 years. At today's price of RM2,997, it works out to a capital cost of just RM 150 per year. Most people will spend RM3,000 on a tv or mobile phone, but to invest in the safest water for the whole family to drink, is expensive.

Remember, a good water purifier will enhance your health, and protect your kidneys, by not adding more chemicals and heavy metals into our already contaminated body.

Let the buyer beware. And now that you are a better informed consumer, you can certainly make the best choice for the health of your family and yourself.

Why is the Seagull IV Water Purifier Different from every other water filter

Legally- Purifiers must meet EPA Guide Standard Protocol for Microbiological Purifiers against bacteria, cysts, and viruses.

Most filters are intended to remove some taste and odors. Only a small selection of the very best water filters may remove specific protozo, and possibly certain aesthetic contaminants, providing a lesser standard of protection than that of Seagull IV water purification systems.

Seagull IV purifiers remove viruses, bacteria and protozoa, PLUS many organic and inorganic chemical and aesthetic contaminants at the highest "purification" micron level (0.4 microns absolute) to provide great-tasting water, while protecting against water-related disease. (Please see published test results.)

Manufactured in the USA from the finest raw materials, our water purifiers are ecologically and environmentally compatible; they purify naturally without adding chlorine, iodine or other pesticides to the water you drink and use in your foods and beverages.

Seagull IV "Structured MatrixTM" technology is independently certified to USEPA Purification Standards against all three classes of waterborne disease organisms - parasitic cysts, bacteria, and viruses - instantly, without pre/post treatment, without wasting water and without electricity. Outstandingly effective, they also remove chemical and aesthetic contaminants, providing superbly refreshing, spring-like water for a naturally healthy lifestyle.

Other filters that cannot meet these EPA microbiological purifier guidelines, will then have to meet the lower minimum standard guidelines as certified by NSF, UF, WQA. These units cannot be called microbiological purifiers, but water filters.

What the Seagull IV water purifier cannot do

1. remove dissolved minerals necessary to good health and good taste.
2. remove salt from sea water, so when travelling you can only pump river water to drink
3. remove flourides that help prevent tooth decay
4. treat sewage or undiluted industrial effluent
5. soften water as minerals that make water hard are essential for taste and health
6. treat ground water that is high is calcium - e.g. in countries like india and philippines.

The best cars are always not the best sellers as people buy what they can afford, not what they want. It's the same with shopping - you see a dress you really like, but come home with a dress that you can afford.
